Hi everyone,

I just wanted to pop in and let everyone in the path of hurricane Katrina know you're in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully everyone is prepared for the worst...and hoping for the best.

Special good thoughts for my friends in the search and rescue community staged just out of the path of the storm and waiting to jump in and help as soon as the skies clear, and to the people of the Louisiana and Texas Humane Societies already putting plans in place to care for the animals who will inevitably be impacted by this storm. If you're in Texas, please consider contacting your local Humane Society and offering to foster or adopt an animal. Hundreds of shelter animals have already been evacuated from Louisiana and need homes, temporary and permanent.
